Triangle United is to pleased to announce 2 partnerships with UNC-Chapel Hill Sports Medicine and Duke University Sports Medicine.
The Sports Medicine Research Laboratory at UNC-Chapel Hill and TU are entering their 3rd year working together on an injury prevention program for all classic teams. Each team will perform a series of exercises as part of their warm-up. Researchers will check in with each team throughout the course of year to progress the program and monitor injuries. This program has been organized by Lindsay DiStefano, Darin Padua, and Steve Marshall of UNC-Chapel Hill.
Duke University Sports Medicine is developing an educational program for TU which will provide information regarding topics such as injury prevention, speed and strength training, and nutrition. Additionally, TU members will have facilities access to physical therapists and medical care when needed. Representatives from Duke Sports Medicine will be providing on field athletic training as well at club events. Kelly Hess, PT, DPT, will be organizing the program with TU.
