TRIANGLE UNITED
ADP
ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
(SOUTH DURHAM REGION)
Program Objective: To provide an environment for players 6-10 years old (born between 8/1/2001 – 7/31/2005) that have demonstrated the ability and desire to compete at a higher level of soccer. The Advanced Development Program (ADP) concentrates on the growth of the individual within the team structure. Our practice sessions will focus heavily on the technical skills a player needs to be successful but will give attention to the tactical side of the game. Sessions will also demand of the player from a physical and mental viewpoint. Together all four components of the game: technical, tactical, physical and mental will be incorporated into sessions creating an environment for complete player development. The elements taught in sessions will also be the areas to be emphasized in games.
Program Structure:
The program will be broken down into 2 age groupings (U8 and U10)
The season is broken down into 2 parts: Fall (September to mid-November) and Spring (mid-March to late May).
Each ADP team will have a dedicated volunteer coach (as selected by TUSA) who will work with the programs technical director. That coach will be present at all practices and games. One day per week the practice session will be lead by a professional staff member of TUSA. The second session and games will be lead by the team coach. In addition, coaches will attend a training coaching workshop prior to the start of the season as well as coaching sessions throughout the year. This training allows the coaches to receive education which ensures that your child is receiving consistent, progressive instruction which leads to a higher level of learning.
Training will be held at Woodcroft Swim and Tennis Club on Tuesday/Thursday. Sessions will be 60 minutes long (6:15 – 7:15). Triangle United also offers teams in Chapel Hill and Northern Durham.
Games will occur on Saturdays and home games will be held at Woodcroft Swim and Tennis Club for South Durham Teams. Teams will compete within a local league involving limited travel. There may be a few games on Sunday afternoon in a friendly/festival format in order to provide additional opportunities for player development.
Benefits: In addition to providing a premier teaching environment, players will also receive at no additional cost:
