Triangle United Re-joins DPL
The DPL is the 2nd highest level of soccer Triangle United offers for our 13U-19U girls. The DPL Players train 3x a week for this program.
The club was a part of the Development Player League (DPL) from fall 2021-spring 2024. The club will re-join for fall 2025 with our 2nd teams in our 13U-19U age groups.
For the 2025-2026 season, the Carolinas Division is comprised of the following clubs:

Kyle Shave
Meet Kyle Shave, DPL Coach at Triangle United, a youth soccer coach with a diverse background in Classic-level play and player development.
Kyle has been coaching in the Orange County and Alamance county area for over 20 years, originally starting his club coaching with Triangle United. Kyle has coached high school level, being recognized as Conference Coach of the Year on multiple occasions. Kyle has also served in a Director’s role for multiple youth soccer development programs.
Today, Kyle continues to enjoy a passion to learn and find new ways to teach in the soccer field.
Qualifications & Credentials: Masters’ in Sports and Recreation Science with a focus in Soccer Coaching (Ohio University). US Soccer “D” License.
Rory Simpson
Meet Rory Simpson, Head Coach for the U15 and U16 Development Pro League Girls Teams at Triangle United, a youth coach with a multitude of experience playing collegiately and at the semi-pro level, and coaching at both the youth level and semi-pro level. He played DIII collegiate soccer at Allegheny College, in the premier NCAC division, and continues to play in the Triangle area with Woodcroft SC, competing in the TASL/OCASL Premier division. He first started coaching NYS Thruway soccer in NYS, before moving down to the Triangle area and serving as an assistant coach for Tar Devils SC (a local semi pro team) in their inaugural 2025 UPSL season, and coaching at competitive travel levels at Triangle United. Rory is excited to continue developing current and future generations of youth talent at Triangle United.

What Teams do we Play?List Item 1
For the 2025-2026 season, we will play within the Carolinas Conference: Augusta Arsenal (GA), Carolina Velocity (NC), Charleston SC (SC), Charlotte DA (NC), Charlotte Independence (NC), Fox Soccer Academy (NC), James Island Soccer (SC), Tormenta (GA), Triangle United (NC), and Wake FC (NC).

How Many Times/Week do you Train?List Item 2
During the DPL season, the teams train 3x a week.

What Events do DPL Teams Enter?List Item 3
All of our DPL teams will play in a DPL Showcase event. Our 15-19 teams can also qualify for "The Summit". Those teams that qualify for the playoffs will participate in that during the end of June. Teams also travel to highly competitive tournaments throughout the year.

Yes, there are college coaches present not only at regular season games, but also during the DPL events.

Is there GK Training for DPL?List Item 2
Yes, the club offers GK training for our DPL GK's. For 2025-2026, our goal will be 1-2x/week GK training for our DPL GKs. There will be technical training and training in the team environment.

When is the Season for DPL?List Item 3
The season for DPL is from late August - May. The 15-19 girls play mainly from August - January while the 13-14 Girls will play games from August - April.
