Goalkeeper Program

The Triangle United GK Program will focus on the kids' learning how to be a goalkeeper, such as having quick reflexes, agility, and the ability to read the game. Overall goal is to help players develop the skills and techniques needed to defend the goal.

Kyle is the Triangle United (TU) Goalkeeper Director and current Duke University Men's Goalkeeper Coach, bringing elite NCAA Division I coaching expertise and specialized training certifications to our premier youth programs.

Evan Gaffney

Evan Gaffney enters his second season working with the Triangle United goalkeepers, focusing on the female goalkeepers for the club. 


This is also his second season as an assistant coach and goalkeeper specialist for Duke women's soccer. Joining the Blue Devils after three seasons at East Carolina University (ECU). 


Prior to his tenure in Durham, Gaffney spent three years with the ECU Pirates, accumulating 27 wins and helping secure the program’s first-ever American Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth.


Gaffney began his collegiate coaching path at Coker University, serving as the men's assistant coach and developmental squad head coach before making the transition to ECU

In-Season Training

Goalkeepers will receive specific GK training at least 1x/week for those players in our Classic program.  Goalkeepers in our MLS NEXT and GA programs will receive at least 2x/week GK specific training.  Focus will be on individual development as a goalkeeper.

Camps

At different times of the year, the club will host GK Specific camps players can sign up for.  These camps are open to any player, whether within the club or from outside the club. 

Off-Season Training

Triangle Training Academy
